Southoe Village Hall development

The Village Hall management committee are please to announce the development of the village hall will start on Monday 23rd June 2025. The committee have worked tirelessly this year and have received just under £40k of grants to allow the village hall to be modernised to a high standard.

Whilst the works are underway, full access to the defibrillator will continue and at no point will it not be able to be easily accessed. Access to the playground, via the village hall entrance, during the first part of the development, will be closed. The area will be fenced off in order for the building works to take place.

The development includes:

Disabled toilet with baby changing facilities

New kitchen

New floors throughout

New heating

New lighting

Free Wifi

New French doors opening onto the playground

Commercial coffee machine free to all users

78” touch screen TV for meetings and events which includes and interactive white board

The removal of the dividing wall to open up the area

New disable access ramps

New porch

Fully decorated

New roof insulation

New storage

Once the building is complete the management committee will be holding a village opening party in the park. We are looking to have a hog roast, drinks, live band and a bouncy castle for the children. This will be a free event and everyone from the village are welcome. We are planning this for mid September.

The work will be transformational, for not just the village hall but the village itself. The first time the hall has been totally modernised in over 40 years.

We will keep the village updated and photos will be published on the village hall website and social media.

Village hall as it was

The village hall has not been modernised over the years, basically staying the same, since 1978.
